Interactive Music Appreciation Program
September 10th, 2026
In partnership with Pima County Public Library, Yixuan Lai presented an interactive violin and music appreciation program for adult participants with diverse learning and accessibility needs.
Combining live violin demonstrations, guided listening, storytelling, rhythm activities, and group discussion, the program offered accessible ways to experience classical music without requiring prior musical training. Participants were invited to identify musical moods, respond to contrasting sounds, and connect music with stories, images, and personal experiences.
The session was designed with flexible pacing and multiple forms of participation, allowing audience members to engage through listening, movement, verbal response, and creative interpretation. This program reflects Yixuan’s commitment to inclusive, community-based music education and to creating meaningful musical experiences for audiences with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.
